ABOUT
THE RIDE
350km. 3 Days. One kilometre for every call for help.
The Against the Wind Challenge is a three-day, 350km charity ride across the Northern Rivers, representing the 350 domestic violence calls made in NSW every single day. We ride against the wind to raise awareness, spark conversation and support frontline domestic violence prevention and crisis response. This is not a race, it’s a stand.
Why We Ride
Every day, hundreds of people call for help because home is not safe. We ride for them, for those facing fear, silence, and uncertainty. 350km is hard, but violence is harder. This ride turns effort into action.
The Route | Northern Rivers NSW
Three days of meaningful challenge, community connection and country roads.
Day 1: Bonalbo → Eltham
Day 2: Eltham → Uki
Day 3: Uki → Lennox Head
Each day is supported with crew, checkpoints and media coverage, bringing visibility to the cause across towns and communities.
Where the Money Goes
Funds raised support two organisations tackling domestic violence from both ends — prevention and crisis response.
NAPCAN
Love Bites (Prevention in Schools)
Love Bites is an evidence-based respectful relationships program delivered in high schools, teaching young people about consent, communication, respect and healthy relationships. To expand this program, NAPCAN must train local facilitators.
Sponsorship helps fund:
Training Love Bites facilitators
Bringing programs into more schools
Breaking cycles of violence before they begin
This is generational change. Prevention that protects
DV Safe Phone
(Immediate Crisis Support)
When victims flee violence, they often leave with nothing, not even a phone.
DV Safe Phone collects, refurbishes and distributes safe phones directly to those in crisis, giving them a lifeline to emergency services, friends and support networks.
Sponsorship helps fund:
Safe phones for victims in danger
Refurbishing + SIM activation
Removing one barrier to safety
This is urgent support when it’s needed most.
