Against the Wind Charity Ride Featured in The Northern Rivers Times

The Against the Wind Charity Ride has received media coverage in The Northern Rivers Times, further raising awareness of the three-day, 350km cycling challenge across the Northern Rivers supporting domestic violence prevention and frontline services.

The article highlights the symbolic distance of the ride, representing the approximately 350 domestic violence calls made in New South Wales each day. Organised by the Boaty Boys of Lennox Head and supported by Rotary Ballina-on-Richmond, the challenge aims to spark conversation, raise funds, and support practical prevention and crisis programs.

Funds raised will support charity partners NAPCAN and DV Safe Phone. NAPCAN’s Love Bites program delivers respectful relationships education in schools, while DV Safe Phone provides emergency mobile phones to people fleeing domestic violence, helping them stay connected to support services.

The feature reinforces the growing momentum behind the Against the Wind Challenge and highlights the important role community-driven initiatives play in creating safer homes and stronger communities across the Northern Rivers.
